Meals for the Greeks

After waking up, the Greeks usually ate breakfast. Breakfast was usually fruit dipped in homemade wine. Bread and cheese was a very common meal for lunch. Dinner had a variety of meal choices, but only poor people ate in the public. Porridge was a common meal, and octopus was a seafood favorite. Rich people were usually the only class ranking that ate meat.

Olives had many uses in daily life of the Greeks. Olives were eaten cooked and raw, either way was safe for the Greeks. They were also crushed into an oil and used for cooking. The oil could be heated to a high temperature without burning.
